Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples and cranberries. Stir in orange juice, orange zest, 3 tablespoons of flour, and 3/4 cup granulated sugar. Mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together 1 1/4 cups of flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup light brown sugar, and 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Add the cubed butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the oats.
Baking
- Pour the fruit mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
- Cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
Serve warm from the oven, with optional vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top. Adding a sprinkle of extra cinnamon can enhance the flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave individual servings.
