Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain Skyr yogurt Make sure to use plain Skyr yogurt for best results.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour Alternatively, use all-purpose flour plus 1.5 teaspoons baking powder.
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 large egg, whisked For egg wash.
Optional Toppings
  • sesame seeds Optional.
  • everything bagel seasoning Optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, flour, and sea salt. Stir until everything is mixed, then use your hands to shape it into a ball.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it until it's smooth. If the dough is sticky, add more flour.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 pieces, roll each into a ball, and lightly press down to flatten.
  5. Make a hole in the center of each flattened dough ball and gently stretch the hole.
  6. Brush each bagel with the whisked egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning if desired.
Cooking
  1. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper. Place the bagels seed side down, maybe in batches if needed.
  2. Air fry the bagels for 8 minutes, flip them, and cook for another 8 minutes.
  3. Once done, remove them from the air fryer, let cool for 5 minutes, and enjoy with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Store any leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 2 months after wrapping them in plastic wrap.
