  • 4 medium Sweet onions Choose sweet onions for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Butter for greasing and layering.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese Shredded.
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese Shredded.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the sweet onions and layer them in a buttered baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese over the onions.
  4. Add additional layers of butter and cheese as desired.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving again. Experiment with different cheese combinations and add red pepper flakes or sautéed garlic for a bit of spice.
