Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 5 cloves garlic Mince the garlic.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese Feel free to use different types of cheese, like pepper jack.
  • 25 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 2 tablespoons chives or green onions Optional, for garnish.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mince the garlic.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the garlic until cooked (no pink remains).
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the can of mushroom soup. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  5. Layer the meat mixture at the bottom, sprinkle on the grated cheese, and add the frozen tater tots on top.
Baking
  1. Bake at 350 degrees F (177 degrees C) for 35-40 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Top with chives or other fresh herbs, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve Tater Tot Casserole while it’s hot, right out of the oven. This dish goes well with a simple green salad, garlic bread, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
