Taco Ingredients
  • 8 pieces Taco shells Choose between hard or soft shells.
  • 1 lb Ground beef or chicken For a lighter option, use ground turkey.
  • 2 cups Lettuce, shredded Chop ahead of time for easy assembly.
  • 1 medium Tomato, diced
  • 1 cup Cheese, shredded Your choice of cheese.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup Salsa Serve on the side to prevent sogginess.
  • 1 medium Avocado, sliced For topping.

Method
 

Cooking the Meat
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef or chicken.
  2. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
Preparing the Taco Shells
  1. While the meat cooks, warm the taco shells by preheating your oven to 375°F or microwave according to package instructions.
Assembling the Tacos
  1. Once the meat is cooked, spoon a generous amount into each taco shell.
  2. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and avocado slices.
Serving
  1. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Chop vegetables ahead of time to save preparation time. For a plant-based option, replace meat with black beans or crumbled tempeh.
