Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Combine warm milk, melted butter, and eggs in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for about 3 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Shaping and Baking
- On a floured surface, turn out the dough and shape it into a loaf, adding the strawberry puree or jam in layers.
- Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze sliced brioche for long-term storage.
