Ingredients
  

For the Pigs in a Blanket
  • 1 tube 1 (8-count) tube refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 tube 1 (4-count) tube refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 package 1 (14-oz) package Lit'l Smokies Can substitute with other small sausages.
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup butter Use unsalted butter for better control of saltiness.
  • 6 Tbsp 6 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp 6 Tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp cinnamon For additional flavor, consider adding nutmeg or vanilla extract.
  • 1 cup 1 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Unroll both cans of crescent rolls and separate them into 12 triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles.
  4. Place a sausage on the wide side of each triangle and roll it up.
  5. Place the rolled sausages in the prepared baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake the rolls for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon. Cook until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves.
  3. Stir in the chopped pecans and pour this mixture over the pigs in a blanket.
  4. Bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Notes

These bites are best served hot and pair well with mustard or your favorite dipping sauce. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave, but note that microwaving may affect crispness.
