Spider Web Halloween Brownies

Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional
Topping
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows or marshmallow fluff

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, melt butter and whisk in sugar until glossy. Add eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 28–32 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. Melt marshmallows or fluff in the microwave in 10-second intervals. Use a fork or fingers to stretch strands over brownies to form webs.
  6. Cut into squares and serve. Add candy spiders or sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Brownies can be made a day ahead and decorated just before serving. Freeze plain brownies for up to 2 months. Reheat leftovers in the microwave for 10–15 seconds.
