Ingredients
  

Peach Filling
  • 6 cups sliced peaches fresh, frozen, or canned (drained)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, combine peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Simmer until syrupy and fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add milk and vanilla extract; stir until just combined.
  4. Pour melted butter into the baking dish. Then pour in the batter—do not stir.
  5. Spoon peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
