  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Evenly sized for uniform cooking
Sauce and Cheese Ingredients
  • 1 cup sour cream For creamy flavor
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Divided
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese For melty texture
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch For thickening
  • 1 tsp dried oregano For a hint of herb flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, and salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.
Baking
  1. Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  2. Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken breasts. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  4. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, and consider pairing with rice, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad. Fresh herbs like parsley or chives can be added for extra flavor.
