Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • 1 lb ground beef Use high-quality ground beef with 80/20 fat content for better flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Toast the buns for added flavor.
  • Cheese slices Optional, add on top of patties.
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion For topping
For the Easy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon relish
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

Cooking
  1. Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equally sized balls and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the balls on the hot griddle and immediately smash them down with a spatula until they’re about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes until a caramelized crust forms on one side.
  5. Flip the patties, add cheese (if using), and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and garlic powder in a bowl to make the easy sauce.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle for a minute until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, adding lettuce, tomato, and onion, and drizzling the easy sauce over the top.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the cooked patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The buns can be stored separately. To reheat, warm the patties in a skillet until heated through, and toast the buns again if needed. Customize the sauce by adding your favorite spices or ingredients.
