Ingredients
  

Burger Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20) Use high-fat ground beef for a juicy burger.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pieces burger buns Toast the buns for extra crunch.
  • 4 slices American cheese Feel free to substitute with other cheese varieties.
Easy Secret Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp relish
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Form the ground beef into four loose balls (about 4 oz each).
Cooking
  1. Place each ball on the hot surface and press down firmly to flatten to about half an inch thick. Cook without moving for about two minutes.
  2. Season each patty with salt and pepper, flip them, then add a slice of cheese on top. Cover briefly to melt.
  3. While the cheese melts, toast the burger buns on the grill.
Assembly
  1. Spread the Easy Secret Sauce on both halves of the buns, assemble the burgers, and serve immediately.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or freeze the cooked patties for up to 3 months.
