  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined Opt for fresh shrimp for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Use unsalted to control saltiness.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped For garnish and added freshness.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To brighten the flavors.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes For a spicy kick if desired.
  • 1/2 cup white wine or broth For deglazing and added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Clean the shrimp by removing shells and deveining if necessary, then rinse and pat dry.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt half of the butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sauté for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Return the shrimp to the skillet, toss them in the garlic butter, and cook for another minute.
  5. Finish with freshly chopped herbs and lemon juice before serving.

Notes
