  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Elevates the sweetness and aroma.
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Enhances the sweetness and complements the sausage.
  • 2-3 tbsp butter (for cooking) More butter equals better flavor!

Method
 

Cooking the Sausages
  1. If using raw sausages, cook according to package directions until fully done. Set aside to cool slightly.
Preparing the Bread
  1. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread for tighter rolls.
  2. Place a cooked sausage at one end and roll up tightly.
Making the Egg Mixture
  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
Dipping and Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp of butter.
  2. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides, and place in the skillet seam-side down.
Frying
  1. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, turning to brown evenly and adding more butter as needed.
Serving
  1. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in some grated cheese, or use gluten-free bread if needed. Leftovers can be reheated or frozen.
