  • 1 pound asparagus Look for firm, bright green stalks with closed tips.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Use at room temperature for better coating.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Can substitute with dried oregano, basil, and thyme.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is recommended for better texture.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For gluten-free, substitute with ground almond or gluten-free panko.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and place them on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss to coat the asparagus evenly.
  5. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs evenly.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes until the asparagus is tender and the topping is golden brown.
  2. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, broil the asparagus for the last 2 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
