- In a large saucepan, over low heat, melt the butter, stirring occasionally until just melted.
- Once melted, toss in the marshmallows and stir until they are fully melted and gooey.
- Remove the saucepan from heat to prevent any further cooking.
- Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until every morsel is coated.
- Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, press the mixture evenly into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Let the pan cool to room temperature before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use butter on your spatula and pan for easier spreading. Don't overmix the marshmallows and Rice Krispies to avoid tough treats. Allow the treats to set before cutting.
