Ingredients

Pumpkin Treat Base
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • a few drops orange food coloring
Decoration
  • 12 Tootsie Rolls or pretzel sticks for stems
  • 12 green M&Ms or green icing for leaves

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Baking Sheet
  • Nonstick Spray

Method

  1. In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat. Stir in orange food coloring until evenly tinted, then fold in the Rice Krispies until fully coated.
  3. Let cool slightly. Grease your hands and form the mixture into pumpkin-sized balls. Insert a Tootsie Roll or pretzel stick in the center of each for a stem.
  4. Decorate with green M&Ms or pipe on icing to resemble leaves or vines. Let set for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

These can be made ahead and stored for up to 3 days. For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla to the marshmallow mixture. Freeze if needed, and thaw at room temperature before serving.
