Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Tear the bread into chunks and spread half of it in the greased dish.
- Sprinkle half of the blueberries over the bread.
- Repeat with the remaining bread and blueberries.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries.
- Let it soak for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until set and golden.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with additional maple syrup.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. For extra flavor, add nuts or prepare the casserole the night before.
