Ingredients

For the patties
  • 1 lb ground beef Use high-quality ground beef for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is best.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional, for extra flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Optional, for extra flavor.
For assembly
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns High-quality or artisan buns are recommended.
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Cheese slices (optional) Add your favorite cheese.
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.) Customize to your liking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill or pan over medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to gently mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, about ¾ inch thick. Aim for a slight indentation in the center to prevent the patties from puffing up.
Cooking
  1. Cook the patties on the grill or in the pan for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  2. Meanwhile, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, tomato, cheese, and any condiments you prefer.
  2. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately, while everything is still warm and inviting.

Notes

For best results, serve the burgers hot with a side of crispy fries or a salad. Customize toppings for a personal touch.
