Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 can Pillsbury pizza dough (or 1.5 cans)
  • 24 ounces cocktail wieners (2 packages of 12 ounces each)
Seasoning and toppings
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Grease the inside of an 8-inch springform pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, melt the butter and add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pizza crust and cut it into strips that are 1 inch by 2 inches.
  5. Brush the strips of dough with the butter mixture.
  6. Wrap each cocktail wiener in a strip of dough and pinch the seam together.
  7. Place the pigs in a blanket standing up in the springform pan.
  8. Brush the remaining butter mixture over the top of the wrapped wieners.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, covering loosely with foil for the last 20-25 minutes.
  2. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some shredded cheese on top before baking. Experiment with different seasonings like paprika or taco seasoning for a twist. Make sure the seams are pinched well to prevent the dough from coming apart while baking. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat by popping them in the oven or microwave until warm.
