  • 1 teaspoon salt For seasoning.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing.
  • 3 tablespoons butter For sautéing vegetables.
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced Any variety, such as cremini or button.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For the sauce.
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves Can substitute with dried thyme.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Add the seasoned pork chops to the hot skillet and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Transfer the cooked pork chops onto a plate and cover to keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Melt it, then toss in sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and add fresh thyme. Stir gently and let the mixture bubble for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the pork chops to the skillet and coat them with the mushroom sauce. Simmer for an additional minute.
Serving
  1. Serve hot with preferred sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Reheat on the stovetop to preserve texture.
