Preparation
- Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
- Add the seasoned pork chops to the hot skillet and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked pork chops onto a plate and cover to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Melt it, then toss in sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft.
- Pour in the heavy cream and add fresh thyme. Stir gently and let the mixture bubble for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet and coat them with the mushroom sauce. Simmer for an additional minute.
Serving
- Serve hot with preferred sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
