Ingredients
Method
Sauté the Vegetables
- In a skillet, heat about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, stirring occasionally. Sauté them for about 5-7 minutes until they are softened and the onions are translucent.
Add Mushrooms and Garlic
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the mushrooms are slightly tender.
Brown the Beef
- Add the ground beef into the skillet. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks, stirring frequently. Cook until it’s nicely browned, around 5-7 minutes. Make sure there’s no pink left in the meat.
Season the Mixture
- Incorporate the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all the flavors, allowing them to meld for a minute.
Melt the Cheese
- Once everything is well mixed, remove the skillet from heat, then add the shredded provolone cheese. Fold gently until melted and evenly distributed throughout the beef mixture.
Assemble the Sandwiches
- Spoon generous amounts of the cheesy beef mixture into the hamburger buns. Serve warm.
Notes
Serve with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad. For a touch of elegance, garnish with fresh parsley or extra cheese. Can prepare ahead of time and store in the fridge.
