  • 8 oz chow mein noodles Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For stir-frying.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor.
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded Fresh cabbage works best.
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned Adds sweetness and color.
  • 1/2 cup celery, sliced Adds crunch.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped For garnish and flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce For seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional for depth of flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.

Preparation
  1. Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large pan or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the cabbage, carrots, and celery, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender.
  4. Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the pan.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce; toss everything together until noodles are heated through and evenly coated.
  6. Stir in the green onions, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade chow mein!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave before serving.
