Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
- Remove any wilted outer leaves from the cabbage and slice it into 3/4-inch thick rounds.
- In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Brush the mixture generously onto both sides of each cabbage steak.
- Place the cabbage steaks on the baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Cooking
- Roast for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool for a couple of minutes before adding any optional toppings.
- Serve immediately. For the air fryer option: Preheat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Slice and season cabbage as above, then air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Notes
Ensure even slices of cabbage for consistent cooking. Customize seasoning to personal taste and prepare ahead of time if needed.
