Ingredients

Pasta and Base
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni/pasta of your choice Choose a pasta shape that holds sauce well.
  • 3 cups water This is the foundation that helps cook the pasta to perfection.
Cheese and Cream
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • 2.5 cups sharp cheddar (freshly grated) Always opt for freshly grated cheese!
  • 2 cups mozzarella (freshly grated)
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp salt Enhances all the flavors beautifully.
  • 1/2 tsp pepper Adds a pinch of kick!
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder Perfect for depth of flavor.
  • 1 tbsp onion powder Adds subtle sweetness and richness.
  • 1.5 tbsp paprika Adjust to taste for extra warmth.
  • 1 tsp mustard Adds delightful tang.
  • 1.5 tsp sugar Balances the savory elements perfectly.

Method

Preparation
  1. Grate the cheese and prepare all the ingredients.
Cooking
  1. In a pot, add the dried macaroni pasta and pour in water. Over medium-high heat, bring to a boil.
  2. Turn the heat down to medium-low, and cook the pasta per package instructions until al dente.
  3. Turn the heat down to low, leave a little residual water in the pot, and mix in all remaining ingredients: heavy cream, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, mustard, and sugar.
  4. Stir well until the cheese melts and the sauce envelops the pasta.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta; it will finish cooking in the sauce. Grate your own cheese for better melting. Feel free to customize with additional ingredients!
