Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Use at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar Can substitute with apple cider vinegar.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Best at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Fresh lemon juice preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Increase to 2 teaspoons for a stronger garlic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, and olive oil. Gently stir until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add the lemon juice, sugar, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Whisk vigorously until all ingredients are well blended and the mixture is creamy, typically about 1-2 minutes of whisking.
  4. Pour the dressing into a jar or an airtight container for storage. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  5. Before serving, give the jar a good shake to ensure all ingredients are mixed nicely.

Notes

This dressing is best served chilled. Great as a dip for fresh veggies or drizzled over salads. Can also be used as a marinade for grilled chicken or fish. Freezing is not recommended as it affects the mayonnaise texture.
