Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Look for high-quality Parmesan for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can be used as an alternative.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • servings Pasta of your choice (for serving) Use al dente, freshly drained pasta.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until completely melted and just starting to bubble (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, watching for gentle bubbles around the edges (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Stir in the garlic powder and Parmesan cheese until smooth, blending thoroughly for about 2-3 minutes until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as necessary and allowing flavors to meld over low heat for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Serve over cooked pasta, ensuring it is al dente and freshly drained for optimal texture.

Notes

For a different texture, consider adding fresh herbs like basil or parsley as a finishing touch. Room temperature ingredients blend more easily, so allow the heavy cream to sit out for a few minutes before cooking.
