  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until soft.
  2. Add ground beef to the pot and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  1. Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the diced tomatoes and both cans of beans (kidney and black), mix well.
  3. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. Letting the chili sit for a while before serving enhances the flavors. Serve with toppings to cater to different tastes, like cheese, avocado, or hot sauce.
