Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in the oats and chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
Cooling
- Cool on wire racks.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. They can be frozen for up to three months. For chewier cookies, let the dough rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes before baking.
