Ingredients
  

Cereal and Nuts
  • 4 cups rice Chex
  • 4 cups corn Chex
  • 1 bag Bugles (approx 7 ounces)
  • 1 bag pretzels (approx 7 ounces)
  • 1 bag almonds (approx 1 lb)
Sauce
  • 3/4 cup butter Melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Karo syrup
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tbsp shoyu
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tapatio Adjust to taste
  • 1 bottle nori komi furikake Sprinkled over mix

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, Karo syrup, and canola oil. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the shoyu, Worcestershire sauce, and Tapatio.
  4. Pour the mixture over the dry ingredients in a large aluminum foil roaster or lined 9"x13" pans. Mix well to coat the pieces with the sauce.
  5. Sprinkle the entire bottle of furikake over the mix and stir again.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 45 minutes to an hour, stirring every 15 minutes until the sauce has completely evaporated.
  2. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. It lasts about a week at room temperature. For longer freshness, store in the fridge. Feel free to adjust spices and try different nuts or cereals.
