- In a large pot, combine the red wine, apple cider, and brandy.
- Add the sliced orange and lemon, star anise, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and sugar. Stir gently.
- Heat over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
- Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
- Strain and serve warm in mugs, garnished with additional orange slices and a cinnamon stick.
Notes
For best flavor, let it simmer longer if you have time. Use clear mugs to show off the beautiful color.
