- Pour the wine into a pot and add the maple syrup, orange slices, and all the spices except the garnishes. Heat on medium until fragrant.
- Once the wine is just barely simmering, turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes.
- When you’re ready to serve, strain the wine to keep it smooth, and pour into individual mugs.
- Garnish each mug with an orange slice and a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg. Optionally, add a cinnamon stick or a few fresh cranberries.
Notes
Use quality wine for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness and experiment with spices to your liking.
