  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted butter brushed on top adds richness.

Method

Preparation

Preparing the Crust
  1. Roll out the store-bought pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick, or prepare your homemade crust ensuring it’s cool before rolling out.
  2. Cut the dough into circles that fit into a muffin tin and line each cup.
Filling the Pies
  1. Spoon the apple mixture generously into each crust-lined cup, packing gently.
Adding the Lids
  1. Using leftover dough, create small circles or shapes for the tops and place them on the filled cups.
  2. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the mini pies cool for a few minutes before serving warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, choose a mix of sweet and tart apples. Optional: Pre-bake the crust for a crisper base.
