Method
 

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, ensuring it doesn’t boil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder with a small amount of warm milk to create a smooth paste.
  3. Add the cocoa paste and sweetener to the warmed milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt if using. Continue stirring until fully blended.
  5. Pour into mugs and serve hot. Optionally, top with whipped cream or marshmallows.

Notes

You can experiment with additional flavors like cinnamon, nutmeg, or a dash of chili powder for a spicy twist.
