Ingredients

Pasta
  • 8 oz pasta of your choice Cook according to package instructions.
Sauce Components
  • 4 tablespoons butter Use unsalted butter for better control of saltiness.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Watch closely to prevent burning.
  • 1 lemon juiced and zested Add both juice and zest for full flavor.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half or coconut milk for lighter option.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust seasoning after adding cream.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Method

Cooking Pasta
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Ensure to stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Drain and set aside, keeping a splash of the pasta water for later use.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Wait for it to become frothy, which usually takes about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
  3. Pour in the lemon juice and zest, stirring well to combine. The mixture should bubble slightly.
  4. Next, add the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until every piece is well coated. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
