Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix well until crumbly.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 8-inch square baking pan, making an even layer.
Cooking
- In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, Key lime juice, eggs, and lime zest until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the Key lime mixture over the prepared crust in the baking pan, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are lightly bubbling.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Cut into bars and optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Key Lime Bars can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 3 months. Serve chilled.
