Ingredients

Burger Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend) Use 80/20 blend for the best flavor and juiciness.
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese Can substitute with cheddar or pepper jack.
  • 4 pieces brioche burger buns Toasted for extra flavor.
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion Adjust to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 oz each) and roll them into loose balls.
  3. Season each ball generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Place a beef ball on the hot surface and smash it down to about half an inch thick using a heavy spatula. Repeat this for the remaining beef balls.
  2. Cook for about 2 minutes until the edges are crispy, then top each patty with a slice of cheese.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the burgers on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any other toppings you prefer.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave. For uncooked burgers, store raw beef in the fridge for up to 2 days before cooking.
