Dressing Base
  • 1 cup olive oil Look for high-quality extra virgin for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar Can substitute with balsamic or apple cider vinegar.
Seasonings
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Reduce or eliminate for a low-carb version.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust based on your taste preferences.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the olive oil and red wine vinegar until well combined.
  2. Add in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar. Continue whisking until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  4. Transfer the dressing to a clean jar with a lid and store it in the refrigerator. Shake well before serving.

Notes

Best served chilled. Prepare a double batch for quick access during the week. Shake before use to re-emulsify.
