  • 4 medium Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes Peel and chop before boiling.
  • 2 cups Beef broth For the gravy.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded cheddar cheese For topping.
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream To mimic whipped cream.
  • 1 large Cherry tomato For garnish.
  • 3 tbsp Flour For thickening the gravy.

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  2. Slow-cook the beef in a slow cooker or Dutch oven for approximately 2-3 hours until tender.
Make Mashed Potatoes
  1. Boil the peeled and chopped potatoes until fork-tender.
  2. Mash with warm milk, butter, and a bit of salt, incorporating sour cream if desired.
Prepare the Beef Gravy
  1. Collect the beef drippings and sprinkle flour to form a roux.
  2. Gradually add beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer until thickened.
Assemble the Hot Beef Sundae
  1. Scoop a mound of mashed potatoes into a bowl.
  2. Layer shredded beef on top and drizzle warm gravy over it.
  3. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and add a dollop of sour cream.
  4. Garnish with a cherry tomato on top.
