  • 1 pound ground turkey You can use other types of ground meat as alternatives.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free if desired.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions For garnish.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds savory flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey For sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Adds richness.
  • 1 large egg For binding.
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season.
For serving
  • Extra chopped green onions or sesame seeds For garnish.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, green onions, minced garlic, egg, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey and soy sauce.
  5. Brush or drizzle the honey garlic mixture over the meatballs.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through. Serve warm.

Notes

Make sure not to overmix the turkey mixture; this keeps the meatballs tender. Use a small ice cream scoop for evenly sized meatballs. Let the meatballs rest for a few minutes after baking for better texture. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
