Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless or bone-in pork chops (1/4 to 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or season to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (or season to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low sodium chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Set aside.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry and season with the seasoning mixture.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the pork chops until golden on the first side, about 2 minutes, then flip and cook for another minute.
  3. Remove pork chops to a plate.
  4. Reduce heat, add butter and garlic to the pan, and sauté for 15 seconds.
  5. Add chicken stock, honey, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce; stir and cook until thickened, about 2 to 5 minutes.
  6. Return pork chops to the skillet, cook until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F, about 3 to 4 minutes more, basting with sauce.
  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve the honey garlic pork chops with a side of steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or rice. Drizzling some of the leftover sauce from the pan over the chops adds extra flavor. A fresh green salad also pairs well to balance the meal. Make sure to pat the pork chops dry before seasoning. This helps them get a nice sear. Feel free to adjust the seasoning if you prefer more spice or flavor. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork chops are cooked to the right temperature.
