Ingredients
Method
Marinate the Chicken
- In a large bowl, add the chicken thighs, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 10 minutes up to overnight.
Cook the Chicken
- Preheat the air fryer to 425°F for a few minutes.
- Place the marinated chicken thighs in the basket (don't overcrowd) and air fry for 11-14 minutes until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F or more).
Prepare the Sauce
- While the chicken is cooking, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, water, and cornstarch in a cup or bowl.
- In a medium shallow pan on medium heat, melt the butter, then add the sauce mixture and cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Serve
- Once the chicken is done cooking, pour the sauce over it and coat evenly. Save a little sauce for dipping later.
- Serve the chicken with fluffy white rice, vegetables, and any other sides you like.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken thighs overnight. You can customize this recipe by adding spices like paprika or cayenne for heat. Ensure the chicken is spaced out in the air fryer for even cooking. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the chicken at 400°F for about 25-30 minutes.
