Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For a smooth glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle it over the batter.
  3. Pour the remaining batter over the top and swirl lightly with a knife.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Glazing
  1. While the cake cools, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Once the cake is cool, drizzle the glaze over the top, slice, and serve.

Notes

Make sure butter is softened for easier creaming. Don’t skip the toothpick test for perfect baking! For extra flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or dried fruits.
