Ingredients
  

For the Sangria
  • 1 cup Homemade Limoncello Use homemade if possible for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Elderflower Liqueur (optional) Adds a floral note but can be omitted.
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries or strawberries or a combination Choose your favorite berries.
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced and cut into halves Enhances the citrus flavor.
  • 1 750 ml bottle champagne or sparkling wine Use chilled for best results.
  • as needed Chilled champagne flutes or cocktail glasses filled with ice For serving.
  • as needed Candied citrus peel (optional) For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pitcher, combine the limoncello, elderflower liqueur if using, and the raspberries and/or strawberries. Stir to combine and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. When ready, add the chilled champagne or sparkling wine to the pitcher.
Serving
  1. Serve in individual glasses or in a large pitcher, and if desired, garnish with candied citrus zest.

Notes

For best flavor, keep unused components separate until just before serving. Chill your champagne or sparkling wine before mixing to keep the sangria refreshing. Feel free to adjust the amount of limoncello to suit your taste. Experiment with different fruits like peaches, oranges, or blueberries. For added sweetness, add a little simple syrup.
