Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Trim and blanch the fresh green beans in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Add the blanched green beans into the mixture and stir until well combined.
- Pour the green bean mixture into a casserole dish and top with French fried onions. If using, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until heated through and the onions are golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm as a side dish. Pairs well with roasted meats like turkey, chicken, or ham. You can also enjoy it alongside rice or mashed potatoes.
