  • 2 teaspoons fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) Infuse your focaccia with delightful aromas.
  • to taste coarse sea salt for topping Sprinkle on top before baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it's smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl and cover it.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Once risen, transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and stretch it out to fit.
  3. Dimple the surface with your fingers, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with herbs and sea salt.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftover focaccia in an airtight container at room temperature for about 2-3 days. You can freeze it for up to 3 months and reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
