  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Can be substituted with almond butter or sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter powder
  • 1/2 cup whey protein powder (unflavored or vanilla) Other protein powders can be used; flavor may vary.
  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/3 cup mini M&Ms or mini chocolate chips Can substitute with different chocolate chips or add dried fruits.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the honey, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Add the peanut butter powder and whey protein powder, and mix well until combined.
  3. Incorporate the oats, M&Ms, and chocolate chips, and mix thoroughly. If needed, use your hands for better mixing.
  4. Roll the mixture into 18 balls.
  5. If the protein bites are too soft, refrigerate them for a while to achieve the right texture.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for a month. Thaw before enjoying. For a vegan version, replace honey with maple syrup and use plant-based protein powder.
