Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce/mirin
  • Pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. Whisk briefly until well mixed and set aside.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat (around 375°F), adding the butter. Once melted and bubbling, add in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden.
  2. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown on all sides and no longer pink in the center.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked chicken, stirring to coat all the pieces evenly. Allow it to cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
  4. If desired, drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Serve hot alongside steamed rice, versatile noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

For best results, ensure your chicken is at room temperature before cooking. You can prepare the chicken and sauce in advance and store them separately for a quick dinner reheat.
