Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Gently roll it out to smooth any creases.
- Spread Dijon mustard evenly over the pastry (if using). Layer the ham slices evenly over the pastry, then sprinkle the cheese on top.
- Fold the pastry in half over the filling. Lightly press down, then cut into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Hold each strip at both ends and twist it 2-3 times to create a spiral stick shape.
- Place the sticks on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Baking
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with honey mustard or marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. These sticks can be frozen before baking. Bake straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
