Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet thawed until just pliable
  • 6 slices ham thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella or mix
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Optional

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or parsley for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a floured surface, unroll the puff pastry and spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard if using. Layer ham slices and sprinkle cheese evenly.
  • Roll the pastry tightly from the long edge into a log. Chill in the fridge for 5–10 minutes to firm.
  • Cut the roll into ½-inch slices. Place spiral-side up on the baking sheet.
  • Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with herbs if using.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Freeze before baking for make-ahead ease. Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven for 5–8 minutes. Try flavor variations like turkey & Swiss, spinach & feta, or ham & pineapple.
